Graduate student Korrie Brown’s dive lesson on Tuesday, October 15, was a little unique. She had the chance to carve a pumpkin underwater at the Alabama Aquarium, while visitors watched. It was a chance for her to sharpen her skills and have a bit of fun. Brown was joined by Research Vet Catharina Vendl.

The pumpkin was prepped ahead of time to avoid the arduous task of cleaning out the pumpkin underwater. However, sticking to a design with fish swimming around, and gloves on, can be a challenge.

Dive Safety Officer Chris Rigaud chatted with the visitors as the divers got ready. The event was organized by Graduate student and diver Nina Luckas.
