The Marine Sciences Graduate Student Organization will hold the 2018 Gulf of Mexico Graduate Student Symposium on the Dauphin Island Sea Lab Campus March 2 through the 4.
The symposium is held every year and is hosted by one of the three consortiums in the northern Gulf of Mexico, Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium (LUMCON), Gulf Coast Research Laboratory (GCRL), and the Dauphin Island Sea Lab (DISL).
Eight institutions from across the Gulf of Mexico region will be represented, with participants traveling from as far as Texas to attend. Session topics span fisheries, biogeochemistry, ecology, and physical oceanography, to name a few.
The student-led symposium gives graduate students a chance to network and present their research in a supporting setting with their peers.
On-site registration for the event is $45 and includes all meals and a t-shirt. Questions can be directed to gss2018@disl.org.
