Make plans with your family to join us at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab for Discovery Day on April 9, 2016. The fun starts at 10 a.m. and lasts until 2 p.m.

Discovery Day takes advantage of all the resources on the Dauphin Island Sea Lab's campus, from the Estuarium to our research facilities. Visitors will also have a chance to tour our research vessel Alabama Discovery.

Touch tanks, arts & crafts, and interactive exhibits create an amazing learning experience for all ages. Our marine scientists and graduate students will be on hand to answer your questions and share their ongoing research projects.

Executive Director John Valentine sees Discovery Day as “a great opportunity for the public to see the mission of the Sea Lab, which is to increase ocean literacy through research and education.”

Planning to join the DISL team for Discovery Day is Smoky the Bear, the Azalea Trail Maids, Alabama Power with their Electric Car, Weeks Bay National Estuarine, Share the Beach, and more.

The day is free, except for a reduced adult admission to the Estuarium. For more information call the Dauphin Island Sea Lab at 251-861-2141 or visit www.disl.org.
